Bear Lake - Rocky Mountain National Park
Bear Lake is 5 miles southwest of Estes Park, CO. It has a scenic 1 mile long loop trail at about 9,500 feet elevation. The trail meanders near the lake shore through a forest of spruce, fir, lodgepole pine and aspen. Photo opportunities can be found everywhere: from intimate close-ups of boulders adorned with brightly colored lichen; young evergreens growing out of impossibly narrow crevices; and scenic views of the fall colors, Longs Peak, and dramatic sunsets.
