Centennial Park
Columbia, MD

Two male Hooded Mergansers decided to try and win over the approval of a female Merganser swimming nearby. They began to perform a series of courtship "dances" to try to impress her.

They swam near and around her lifting their heads up high and made throaty courtship calls: somewhat akin to a frog croaking.

Not sure if the female was duly impressed... but I had fun capturing their antics.
