- Barred Owlet Branching
- This sequence of photos captured the 3rd of three Barred Owlets that fledged the first week of May 2026.
- At approximately 9:45AM this owlet was spotted on the ground searching for a nearby tree to climb for safety soon after emerging from its nesting cavity located approximately 40-50' above the ground in a large Sycamore.
- The owlet initially tried to climb the trunk of a nearby large tree, but soon realized it needed to find something less challenging.
- After a bit of exploring it found a smaller tree trunk and effortlessly climbed up to a safe perch about 20' above the ground.
- The duration of this photo sequence is approximately 30 minutes.
