Photos of some of the Bald Eagle fishing action on the Susquehanna River at Conowingo Dam, and portrait shots of several birds of prey that were on display by two raptor rescue organizations.
On Saturday November 8, the operator of the dam, Excelon, held its second, annual event: Conowingo Bald Eagle Day. Approximately 1,000 photographers, bird watchers, and nature lovers attended this free event to watch the bald eagles going fishing on the Susquehanna River, and to learn about the life, behavior, and conservation efforts of eagles and other birds of prey.
The rescued birds of prey in this photo gallery were displayed by the following organizations:
Animal Behavior and Conservation Connections
Adventures with Raptors
I would like to thank Phung Luu of Animal Behavior and Conservation Connections for identifying the rescued birds of prey species provided in the caption below each photograph.
